To Whom It May Concern:
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is an international organization based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and was started by homebuilt aircraft aficionados over 50 years ago. Today there are nearly 1,000 chapters around the world, and all that's required for membership is an interest in flying. The EAA and its Chapters are non-profit service organizations. Our Kingman Chapter has received from IRS a 501 C-3 classification, which gives us the non-profit status.

EAA Chapters in general have as their goal the furtherance of general aviation through activities that educate, inform, and provide an outlet for individuals within the community to experience the joy and realization of flight such as: Young Eagle Day, held each May, is one activity that reaches out to our youth (8 to 18 yrs.). Each individual is given a 30 min. airplane ride by one of our members who provide the experience in their own aircraft and at their own expense. In the last four years we have flown approx. 160 youth.

Kingman Air & Auto Show is another activity we participate in that informs the community of the joys of flight and the opportunities available in General Aviation. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are given the opportunity to earn merit badges in aviation by completing a series of tasks that involve various phases of aviation from operation of aircraft to history while at the same time enjoying a first ride in an airplane. Specific aviation task areas are: Airfield Operations, Radio Communications, Flight Controls & Instruments, Aviation History, and Experimental Aircraft Building. Last year we held two events for the Boy/Girl Scouts.

Members promote general aviation in our schools by speaking to classes and inviting students to take advantage of Young Eagle Days, touring the Airport Museum, and other activities that are held throughout the year.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could help us by making physical or cash donations which will help our chapter continue providing activities that benefit our local youth and adults alike. We are in need of Heating, Air Conditioning, and Insulation for our hangar to be able to provide activities regardless of weather. All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be given.

Thank you,
John Pool, President
