Nominations for upcoming chapter elections will be at October’s meeting with the election in November.
New Business:
There was discussion of the requirement for 501c organizations to do things that benefit the community at large? Some ideas were Scout merit badges, which we do, or club members volunteering for help during primary and general elections. John will check into possible Aviation Field Day for schools.
We discussed the possibility of a parade entry for Andy Devine Days. (Something with short wings)
There will be a memorial service October 10th for Boyd Harford Jr. at the Kingman airport.
Similar to last year, we will have a presence at the Air and Auto show, Oct. 7th & 8th with Rick’s trailer. He will also check on AZ aviation kits which are provided free of charge. Paul to bring his “Midget Mustang” for display and the Museum’s Corsair may want to display with us as well.
Erv Trunk, a member from Texas is relocating to Kingman.
Adjourn:
Motion to adjourn by Gene Wolf, seconded by King Sharp; carried and adjourned 7:32 p.m.
From the Editor: I am currently holding down two full-time jobs: one for KITPLANES and the other for the parent company. This second assignment will end by Halloween, but I do not have time to put out a full-fledged newsletter. I do have a long article from Aronson that will be in next month’s newsletter, the good Lord willin’ and the cricks don’t rise.
In the meantime, please turnout and help at the Chapter’s display at the Air & Auto Show this weekend. Contact any of the officers for what you can do to help. And step up and volunteer for an officer position. New faces are needed.
Since the last meeting, 20 more Young Eagles received their Certificates on September 16th. It was a beautiful day and everything went very smoothly. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped. As you know, we needed all your hands. Thought you might enjoy this photo of WAR Aircraft’s ½ scale WAR Corsair with the new “rockets” installed.
